Karen Smith


Karen is a Melbourne based artist and designer working in art and pattern design through a variety of mediums. Karen creates art & accessories featuring her original surface pattern designs, in the form of watercolour and acrylic artworks, lino prints, woodcut block prints, pen & ink works, digital art, textiles, ceramics and laser cut objects. Karen draws inspiration from nature; many of her designs include Australian botanical imagery and coastal landscapes. Karen encourages creativity in others, and shares many of her ideas and techniques through online tutorials. Karen’s commercial design background has helped her develop excellent communication skills.
