Andrea Sayers worked with Dunfermline Museum. She focused on the tools and products of the town’s linen trade and made a visit to a recently closed mill. Through taking carefully lit photographs with a medium format camera (which uses large negatives to give sharp detail when pictures are enlarged) she has transformed humble objects into beautiful ones.
Andrea Sayers – Curriculum Vitae Current Projects I am currently writing up my PhD proposal for submittal to the University of Dundee. Research will be centred on ideas of home, belonging and displacement within the context of Gaelic culture, with a focus on domestic places and relics, and the self-writing they carry within them.
Andrea Sayers trained at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee (MFA) and is based in Dundee. In 2005 she had residencies at Cove Park, Argyll, and the Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Aberdeenshire. In 2006 she received a 'Go and Meet' award from Hi-Arts, and in 2006 was in the Stone Ground Hebrides exhibition, AtticSalt, Edinburgh.
