Pottery & Ceramics with Betty Jennings
(incl $20 for glazes/firing – clay extra)
  • It is essential to know basic handbuilding techniques.  The first weeks are made up of learning these techniques (pinch pots, coil making and slabs) followed by demonstrations of wheel work, decorating with oxides, underglazes, slips and glazing.
  • I encourage everyone to look at nature for inspiration and use their imagination.  I help you achieve individual creations, in a relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere.
$172.00

1.00pm - 3.00pm
Mixed Media and water based paints on canvas with Clive Sinclair

The structure of the class will be watercolour on canvas.

Painting from the motive to the abstraction would be the aim and breaking down photographs to turn into paintings from impressionism to abstraction would be another way of working.

This is an exciting approach to using watercolour and many techniques will be explored.

I look forward to sharing the fun and creativity with you.

$152.00

4.30pm - 6.00pm
CHILDREN'S Pottery & Ceramics with Jane Sears (incl. $10 materials)
  • It is essential to know basic handbuilding and joining techniques which are tailored for children.  After learning these techniques we follow with decorating and glazing.
  • I encourage children to use imagination with books and use images, to help them achieve their individual pieces.
  • Classes are relaxed and non-competitive.  Materials included.
$107.00
7.30pm - 9.30pm
Acrylics & Oils Intermediate/Advanced with Clive Sinclair
  • Individual choices in ways working will be continued in this class.

The structure of the class will be using oil paints, acrylics with occasional pastel involvement.

Painting from the motive to the abstraction would be the aim and breaking down photographs to turn paintings from impressionism to abstraction would be another way of working.

I would also like to run a life model – probably 3 times during the term for use in any medium.  Charcoal studies of 1 minute to 10 minutes would be factored into this as well as a long pose and/or portrait painting.

This should be lots of fun as we create wonderful paintings and explore creativity.
